Pacquiao in 2nd place: Cynthia Villar still wealthiest senator with P3.9B net worth

As the wife of one of the Philippines’ richest men, it’s no surprise that Senator Cynthia Villar’s net worth runs up to billions—nearly P3.9 billion to be exact.

Villar retained her spot as the richest senator as of December 31, 2020, according to the summary of the senators’ Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) released Monday (Sept. 20). She declared a net worth of P3,875,696,435.00.

The senator’s husband, tycoon Manny Villar, owns Vista Land and Lifescapes, as well as other businesses.

Next to Villar, the second richest senator is boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, who declared a net worth of P3.2 billion.

In third place is Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, with a net worth of P581 million. He’s followed by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri with a P220.7 million net worth.
