President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to know if Senator Dick Gordon funneled P88 million of his Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
“Gusto ko malaman tumanggap ka ba ng P88 million sa PDAF mo? Pinarking mo ang PDAF mo so you co-mingle it with money of Red Cross,” Duterte claimed during his weekly public address late Monday.
Gordon, who chairs the Blue Ribbon Committee leading an investigation into the government’s purchase of alleged overpriced pandemic supplies last year, is the current chairman of PRC.
“Sinali mo dun sa pera ng Red Cross, which means to say now that hindi na ma-audit ng COA (Commission on Audit) kasi ang COA, sabi mo, hindi pwede mag audit sa Red Cross,” the chief executive said.
Last week, Duterte directed Solicitor General Jose Calida to ask COA to review the financial records of the PRC, saying that government funds were given to the non-government organization
