Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV isn’t giving up the anti-corruption fight.
Trillanes appeared in a latest video vowing to continue to expose corruption in government despite the odds, including the criticisms against him. The former rebel soldier, who plans to run for public office in next year’s elections, he could only declare “mission accomplished” once the real change is attained.
At the start of the video, Trillanes said many have told him to simply cooperate with the government instead of focusing on his exposés, investigation and complaints. He admitted he thought if these people were right that he should stop what he has been doing. But he realized his love for country prevailed over these criticisms against him.
Trillanes said he is happy that many people, including the youth, have become aware and joined the fight against corruption.
puwede ko na sabihin ‘mission accomplished,'” he said.
Trillanes is a known vocal critic of Duterte over allegations of corruption, incompetence, and drug-related killings. He has drawn the ire of the President a number of times over his criticisms against his administration.
Unfazed by the President’s rants, Trillanes voiced confidence the country will be freed from the so-called “Duterte curse” in 2022.
