The word war between President Rodrigo Duterte and several senators will only stop after Election Day, MalacaƱang said Wednesday.
In a televised briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the opposition is in a “desperate” bid to win support for the May 2022 polls.
Otso Diretso was the alliance formed by the opposition in 2018 to challenge the administration’s senatorial line up.
Duterte in his weekly public address on Monday criticized some lawmakers investigating the alleged anomalous procurement of overpriced Covid-19 pandemic supplies, singling out Senators Dick Gordon and Ping Lacson.
He likened to “German interrogators” from the Nazi regime senators who grill resource persons for hours during public hearings.
