Gunning for the presidency in the 2022 elections has been a tough decision for boxer-turned-politiko Manny Pacquiao.
Jinkee Pacquiao, in a long Instagram post, said she supports her husband’s presidential bid 100 percent but admitted that making such decision was difficult. Pacquiao isn’t perfect for the job but his love for country and desire to help Filipinos are genuine, according to his wife.
“It has not been an easy decision for him but his heart and love for our country calls him to,” Jinkee said on Instagram.
“Manny does not claim to be perfect, be the most learned and skilled but one thing I know and have witnessed – Everyday he calls on our Almighty God seeking his wisdom knowledge and understanding,” she said.
After being blessed in his boxing career, she said Manny’s bigger dream is to help Filipinos achieve their “best life,” including having stable jobs, education, and shelter.
“I admire his intense desire and determination for our people to prosper in every way as God has intended – For every Filipino Family to be happy whole and well, for children to get a good education, parents to have work , food on the table , off the streets and sleeping soundly with a roof over their heads,” she said.
Pacquiao formally announced his plan to run for president during an assembly of the PDP-Laban last weekend. He has accepted the party’s nomination to be its standard bearer in the 2022 elections. No vice presidential candidate was endorsed during the assembly.
Jinkee promised to stand firmly behind her hubby as he seeks the presidency.
“I’m grateful that he has blessed you and our family beyond measure. Maraming salamat sa paglaban mo para sa ating pamilya. Ngayon Im with you 100% as you fight for our country,” she said.
