President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday directed the Department of Health (DOH) to investigate the alleged false positive testing results for Covid-19 conducted by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Duterte said he received reports that some government employees tested positive in Red Cross’ RT-PCR tests, but tested negative in the confirmatory tests.
“The DOH must investigate this matter,” the Chief Executive said during his taped public address.
“You could be putting more people at risk. You could be falsely adding to the total positive cases per day of this country,” he added.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III earlier said the incident involving 44 false positive Covid-19 results conducted by a PRC laboratory in Subic is being investigated by the Lab Network, headed by Assistant Secretary Nestor Santiago.
