Wanted: PCOO hiring lawyers, accountants, IT experts, other staff

Want to join the Duterte administration’s communications team? Here’s a chance to get in.

The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) announced its search for additional qualified personnel to join its team. The office led by Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar is in need of lawyers, accountants, budget officers, information technology officers and systems analysts, administrative officers and aides.

“PCOO is HIRING! The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) is looking for dedicated personnel to join its team,” the PCOO wrote on Facebook on Sept. 3, 2021.

“Kindly check the following links provided for each division to know more about the available positions,” it said.

Interested applicants must submit the following requirements until Sept. 25:

1. Application letter;

2. Personal Data Sheet (CS Form 212-PDS Revised 2017) with Work Experience sheet. PDS must be notarized;

3. Performance rating in the last rating period (if applicable);

4. Photocopy of Transcript of Records and Diploma; and

5. Photocopy of Training Certificate/s (if applicable).

Last year, PCOO spent around P70 million on the hiring of 375 contractual employees but strongly denied these workers were recruited as online trolls.

The Commission on Audit earlier flagged PCOO’s hiring of COS personnel, saying it was “unrestricted and massive” after these workers outnumbered its regular employees by 260 percent. PCOO only had 144 regular personnel in 2020 but its contractual employees made up 70 percent of its total workforce.
