Several netizens were dismayed with Karla Estrada’s decision to join TINGOG party-list as its third nominee.

The hashtag, #WithdrawKarlaEstrada, became prominent on Twitter in the hours after Estrada joined in filing the party-list’s certificate of candidacy and certificate of nomination and acceptance at the Sofitel Garden Tent in Pasay Friday (October 8).

Netizens took issue with Estrada’s association with a party-list whose representative in the 18th Congress, Yedda Romualdez, voted against granting ABS-CBN a new franchise.

Estrada’s son, Daniel Padilla, is one of ABS-CBN’s biggest stars.

“The best way to help the network for its franchise renewal is TO NOT SUPPORT the same people/partylists that killed it. Ano kami tanga? I’m not buying this. #WithdrawKarlaEstrada,” tweeted @ohemuhtee.

“Sorry KARLA, but Kathniel fans are smart so you can’t use us for your political will. In fact, woke kathniel fans made a twitter account called “KathNiels para sa Bayan” to bring forth nationalistic campaigns and are partners with mass organizations. #WithdrawKarlaEstrada,” said @_ligayaxx.

“i hope you remember how your son was one of those fought the HARDEST for his home and FAMILY. i have so much respect for you, especially with how you raised your children but this is very disappointing. #WithdrawKarlaEstrada,” tweeted @silangmasaya.

“It really defeats her and her son’s battlecry during the time when ABS-CBN was being denied a franchise. If the intention is to help, I believe she can even without entering politics. #WithdrawKarlaEstrada,” said @fordaintniel.

“I will never understand how you decided to stand with the oppressor and forgot the oppressed. #WithdrawKarlaEstrada,” tweeted @lollipopsodapop.
