Bigyan kita ng gold medal! Duterte lauds Vince Dizon for construction of National Academy of Sports

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday commended Bases Conversion and Development Authority president and chief executive officer Vivencio Dizon for the construction of the National Academy of Sports (NAS) at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.

During his taped public address, Duterte said he would give Dizon, also the country’s Covid-19 testing czar, a “gold medal” for putting a great deal of effort into his work.

“Thank you, Vince Dizon. You know, 20 years from now when you go to Clark City, then you look at the buildings that you have helped build, I’m sure that you will have that fiery love of country and patriotism that you helped build what it is now,” the Chief Executive said.

“The Filipino will remember you. Which reminds me, bigyan kita ng gold medal pero atin-atin lang ito,” he added.

Dizon reported that NAS will be inaugurated before Duterte steps down at the end of his term.

“Nagsisimula na po ang construction nito at pinapangako po namin na bago po matapos ang inyong termino, you will inaugurate this beautiful world-class sports academy,” according to him.

In June last year, Duterte signed into law Republic Act 11470, which establishes the NAS that will implement a quality and enhanced secondary education program, integrated with a special curriculum on sports.
