FDA seeks DOH advice on at-home Covid-19 testing

By Prince Golez

The Philippines Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any Covid-19 self-testing kits for use at home yet.

In a televised briefing Wednesday, FDA Director General Eric Domingo said they have sought the opinion of the Department of Health (DOH) regarding the use of rapid antigen self-test kits.

Hinihintay lang po namin ang kasagutan ng Department of Health if they think it will be useful to our strategies,” he added.

The United States and Singapore have allowed the use of rapid antigen test kits for people to test themselves for Covid-19 at home.
