Magsasaka party-list seeks another term

Magsasaka party-list (MPL) Rep. Argel Joseph Cabatbat is seeking another term.

Cabatbat filed the certificate of candidacy of his party at the Sofitel Harbor Garden Tent in Pasay City on Wednesday (October 6). MPL first won in the 2019 elections.

Cabatbat, a lawyer is a son of farmers from Guimba, Nueva Ecija.

Among the measure he filed was the institutionalization of the ‘One Town, One Product’ (OTOP) Philippines Program which was passed by the House of Representatives unanimously.

OTOP seeks to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development by providing the necessary support to micro-, small- and medium-scale enterprises in the countryside.

In 2018, Cabatbat survived an assassination attempt at the corner of EDSA and East Avenue in Quezon City.
