Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is eyeing another term in the provincial capitol in the coming local elections.
Garcia filed her certificate of candidacy for governor at the Commission on Elections on Friday, October 8, 2021. The reelectionist governor will run under the One Cebu group and the ruling PDP-Laban party.
“CEBU is NO.1,” she said on Facebook after filing her COC.
“Because the CEBUANOS deserve ONLY the BEST. PERIOD,” she said.
Garcia’s latest tweet included the hashtags #PadayonSugboPagkaNumeroUno, #OneCebu, and #BuhatAngPasultion.
Garcia will compete against former Tourism Secretary Ace Durano in the gubernatorial race next year. Durano, running under the Bakud party and Partido Pilipino sa Pagbabago (PPP) ticket, already submitted his gubernatorial candidacy at the local poll office.
