Getting started on Facebook live-streaming can be intimidating but this former broadcaster finally got the hang of it.
Antique Rep. Loren Legarda finally learned how to do her own live broadcast on Facebook.
The lawmaker was previously assisted by her staff in streaming live video to her more 500,000 Facebook followers. Legarda, a broadcast journalist before becoming a politiko, is seeking a Senate comeback in the 2022 elections.
Legarda went live on Facebook last Oct. 15, admitting her amusement to use the broadcast feature for the first time. In her maiden solo Facebook live, she gave her followers a glimpse of her Christmas tree at home. Recycled materials have been used to decorate the festive tree.
“Surprise! marunong na akong mag-live,” the former broadcast journalist said at the start of the Facebook video.
“Ngayon na marunong na ako, watch me. Naku parati tayong magkasama.”
Legarda, still a beginner on Facebook Live, admitted that some of her young staff members were laughing during the broadcast. She also asked about the hearts popping during her live-streaming. People can start a live broadcast on Facebook and post it on their news feed. The recording can be seen real time or be posted on the feed for future viewing.
“Ang daming heart. Ano ibig sabihin ng maraming hearts? Kausapin ninyo ako,” Legarda asked her followers. “Natutuwa ako!”
Apart from showing off her Christmas tree, Legarda announced that she was giving two more laptops to lucky Facebook followers. The lawmaker has been actively Facebook to promote her advocacies and programs on environmental protection, promotion of local culture and tradition, among others.
