Nag-aral sa Harvard ‘to! Mayor Isko dispels ‘utak ampaw’ tag

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is an educated politiko, contrary to allegations he is brainless.

The presidential aspirant took to Facebook to trumpet his academic credentials, hoping to reject the “utak ampaw” tag hurled by some critics.

Mayor Isko, a garbage collector from Tondo before becoming an actor and later a public servant, is a product of public education. He also completed post-graduate studies including an executive program he took at the prestigious Harvard University.

“SABI NILA UTAK AMPAW DAW AKO? Mahirap man ang buhay noon, ako po’y nagpursigi sa pag-aaral para makaahon mula sa kahirapan,” he said on Facebook.

“Ako po ay produkto ng Public Education System, nag elementarya sa Almario at nag high school naman sa Tondo High,” he said.

With the help of then Vice Mayor Danny Lacuna, Mayor Isko also studied business administration at the International Academy of Management and Economics.

The Manila mayor also studied Bachelor of Laws at the Arellano University, Public Administration at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Local Legislation and Local Finance at the University of the Philippines (UP), Executive Education Program at the Harvard University under, and Strategic leadership program at the Oxford University.

“Matapos nyan, ako’y nabigyan ng pagkakataon na magpatuloy ng pag-aaral sa iba’t ibang pamantasan dito sa Pilipinas at sa ibayong dagat upang mahasa ang aking kaalaman patungkol sa mahusay na paninilbihan sa bayan,” he said.

Mayor Isko stressed the importance of education, saying it is a tool to achieve a better future.
