Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has emerged as the new frontrunner in the presidential race in the absence of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The latest Pahayag survey by Publicus Asia showed Marcos as the top presidential contender with a 49.3 percent rating. In far second place is Vice President Leni Robredo with a 21 percent rating.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is in third place with a nine percent rating, while Senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao are tied in fourth place at three percent.
Publicus Asia conducted the poll from October 11 to October 18, 2021. It used nationwide purposive sampling, with 1,500 respondents drawn from a market research panel of over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by a Singapore-based firm.

Duterte filed her candidacy for reelection despite the clamor for her to run for president.
She has until November 15 to substitute as the standard bearer of any party that fielded a presidential candidate.
