Pinagtatrabahuhan ‘yan! Vergierie says gov’t working to boost COVID vaccine acceptance

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday said it is striving to increase vaccination rates across communities.

DOH undersecretary Rosario Vergerie made the comment in response to a survey of the Octa Research Group showing low confidence in Covid-19 vaccination among individuals in the Visayas and Mindanao region.

“Iyan naman po ay pinagtatrabahuhan natin since the start at nakita naman po natin talaga na napakalaki ng naging difference from the previous na ang baba talaga ng kumpiyansa ng mga tao sa bakuna. Ngayon nakikita natin ay talagang ang demand ay mataas na,” Vergerie said in a television interview.

To enhance people’s confidence in vaccination campaigns, the DOH official said they are setting up more sites to administer the Covid-19 vaccines.

“For the specific areas, hindi naman po kabuuan ng Visayas at Mindanao ang talagang mababa ang kumpiyansa. May mga ilang lugar lang po talaga na makikita natin na talagang ang confidence no ay mababa pa rin,” according to her.

“Kaya po, talagang tinututukan na ng ating mag vaccine cluster ito, nag-e-expand po tayo ng ating mga vaccination sites at talagang pinupuntahan para mahikayat,” added Vergerie.

The Philippines has so far administered a total of 55,168,455 doses of Covid-19 vaccine nationwide.
