Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday denied turning the inauguration of a mega vaccination hub in Valenzuela City into a campaign rally.
“You cannot please everyone. Bahala na po ang taong bayan. Pero ang importante nagkaroon tayo ng pinakamalaking vaccination center sa Valenzuela,” Roque said during a Laging Handa public briefing.
“Nagkataon po meron po dung senador na kandidato rin sa vice president eh siyempre kahit papano eh magbibigay ng suporta ang mga nagsalita, kasama na ako dun,” he added.
During the inaugural event Thursday, the Palace official referred to Senator Bong Go, also the former aide of President Rodrigo Duterte, as “matalik na kaibigan” and “magiging bise presidente.”
He also called former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar as future senator.
“‘Yung nangyari kahapon, eh iisa lang naman po ang proklamadong kandidato doon. So, sa tingin ko po hindi po yun campaign rally. Ano lang po yan, pula lang ng mga walang napakitang achievements at accomplishments sa gitna ng pandemya at puro lang po puna,” said Roque, who also has his eyes on the Senate.
