Tulfo won’t demand Bongbong’s apology for father’s sins: ‘Why would he apologize for something he didn’t do?’

No need for an apology.

Senatorial aspirant Raffy Tulfo believes that former Senator Bongbong Marcos does not need to apologize for the sins of his father late President Ferdinand Marcos during the martial law regime.

Tulfo, in an interview over ANC’s Headstart on Monday, also said issues related to the Marcoses such as the ill-gotten wealth should be left to the court.

“Para sa akin kasi kasalanan nung tatay, bakit magiging kasalanan ng anak? Why would he apologize for something that he didn’t do na ang may kagagawan ang tatay niya? Para sa akin yan, opinyon ko ‘yan,” he said.

Tulfo explained that he himself has been asked to be accountable for the alleged offenses committed by his siblings in the past. He found it unfair that he has been dragged into the issue which he has no knowledge of.

“Bakit ‘yung kasalanan ng isang kamag-anak ipinapasa sa isang kamag-anak? Because I myself have been a victim of that na just because may issue ‘yung mga kapatid ko, na kaapelyido ko, pati ako nadadamay. Dapat hindi tayo ganun mag-isip mga Pilipino,” he said.

He said the persons unfairly linked to the controversy must be given a chance to clear his side.

“Give the other relative na walang kinalaman sa kaso na chance para ma-prove niya ang sarili niya,” he said.

Asked about his stance on the ill-gotten wealth of the Marcoses, Tulfo deferred to the court to rule on the matter. “Kung may court decision na, pabayaan na korte na mag-implement niyan. Kung ano pending, so be it. Hayaan natin gumulong yang kaso na ‘yan sa korte,” he said.
