‘We can never tell that destiny of man’: Bato dela Rosa may win presidential election – Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte believes that Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa can win the presidency.

In an interview with SMNI News during his visit to televangelist Apollo Quiboloy in Davao, Duterte said Dela Rosa, former Philippine National Police chief, may win the presidential elections in 2022, citing the number of candidates vying for the position.

“Kasi wala kaming ulo, and I think PDP decided (at the) last minute or the last day of the filing of the certificates that it would be good to have at least a head of the whole team,” the Chief Executive said Friday.

“Alam mo sa totoo lang he might still make it, with so many candidates filing certificates of candidacy, he might, you know, we can never tell that destiny of man, and it would be good to have a military man as president of this republic,” he added.

Dela Rosa, who led the early stages of the government’s controversial war on drugs, filed his candidacy for president less than an hour before the deadline for filing candidacy.
