3-day vax drive ‘catalyst’ for post-Covid recovery: Andanar

By Prince Golez

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar sees the three-day national vaccination day from November 29 to December 1 as a “catalyst” that can help the Philippines recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

With enough supply of Covid-19 vaccines, Andanar on Monday said everyone has a responsibility in reducing the spread of Covid-19.

“The Duterte administration has successfully made vaccinations available and closer to each one of us, and all of us should take that responsibility not only for our own safety, but also that of our loved ones, neighbors, and the frontliners, who made these initiatives possible,” the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) said during a vaccination event in Cagayan de Oro City.

He also noted that the government’s aggressive vaccination drive has resulted in lower Covid-19 positive rate and positive GDP growth.

Meanwhile, Andanar thanked all frontliners who continue their efforts, services, and sacrifices to address the impacts of the pandemic.

“They have taken their duty and obligation seriously and fervently served during this pandemic, and all of us who have benefited from it have our own responsibility to ensure that we help protect each other in our own way. A way to make a sizable contribution to this collective effort is by participating in our National Covid-19 Vaccination Program,” the PCOO official said.
