Duterte tells Pinoys: Stay vigilant against COVID even cases are dropping

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday reminded the public, even the unvaccinated persons, to keep taking precautions against Covid-19 despite a continued decline in infections.

In his pre-recorded “Talk to the People” address, Duterte advised Filipinos to continue following the minimum health protocols such as wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing, and frequent handwashing.

“While the developments of the past few weeks show that we are steadily beating Covid-19, we must remain careful and continue practicing hugas, mask, iwas, bakuna kung wala pa. Iyon lang ang tandaan niyo. Ang dati, iyong mask, hugas, iwas. Idagdag naman niyo por Diyos iyong ano iyong bakuna,” the Chief Executive said.

Duterte noted that Europe and the United States have been facing another rise in Covid-19 cases owing to the large number of people who remain unvaccinated and relaxation on the implementation of health protocols.

“You can go to the international news channel sa Internet, doon sa mga YouTube, may spike. Tumaas bigla ang mga kaso ng COVID sa Europe at America, at hinahanap nila ang rason… Well, of course, others ayaw magbakuna… ‘Yung iba hindi nagma-mask,” he said.
