Vice presidential aspirant Walden Bello on Wednesday said he’s willing to subject himself to a drug test.
But on one condition.
In a statement, Bello said the Commission on Elections should require mandatory drug testing for national candidates first.
“I am willing to comply should Comele decide to make drug testing a requirement for national candidates, as Ka Leody (de Guzman) has earlier said,” the former Akbayan congressman said.
“But we refuse to participate in a circus to clean up the image of the asshole Bongbong Marcos. Can you really trust a drug test result produced by Marcos?” he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier accused a presidential aspirant in the 2022 elections, whom he called a “weak leader,” of using cocaine.
Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III, who are running in tandem for the country’s top two posts, underwent and passed a voluntary drug test at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Monday.
Former senator and presidential bet Marcos also took a cocaine test at the St. Luke’s Medical Center and gave the negative test result to the anti-drug law enforcement agency.
