Another politiko has joined the world of TikTok to reach a wider audience, especially the youth.
Former Mindanao Development Authority chair Manny Piñol made his debut on TikTok on Monday, discussing his favorite topic — agriculture — on the video-sharing platform.
Piño describes himself as a farmer, environment and former Agriculture Secretary in his TikTok account. He has so far earned more than 200 followers.
In his first TikTok video, Piñol visits Zamboanga Peninsula and tackles the country’s prospect as a major food producer and exporter. Farmers however must be guided about the “right plant, right place” to promote agricultural production, he says.
Piñol, who served as agriculture secretary in the Duterte Cabinet before his move to MinDa in 2019, is running for senator in the 2022 elections.

The former Cabinet secretary posted three more videos, including a visit to a fish market.
“Mahal ang isda dahil maalon. Para sigurado ang supply at steady ang presyo, the best option is develop aquaculture,” he captioned his second TikTok video.
