Nothing but a nuisance petition! Marcos Jr unfazed by attempt to nullify 2022 run

Presidential hopeful Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is unperturbed by a petition seeking to invalidate his presidential candidacy in the 2022 elections.

The camp of the former senator dismissed the petition filed before the Commission on Elections as a “predictable nuisance petition.”

Marcos spokesman, Atty. Victor Rodriguez, said they will respond to the proton as soon as they get a copy.

“We shall address this predictable nuisance Petition at the proper time and forum – after we receive the OFFICIAL copy of the same,” he said in a statement.

For the meantime, the Marcos camp would rather focus on the 2022 campaign that engage in gutter politics.

“Until then, we will refrain from commenting on their propaganda. Our camp does NOT engage in gutter politics. Our campaign is about nation building,” he said.

“For Presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos, this election is about the future of the Filipino people,” he added.

A group of rights advocates earlier asked the Comelec to cancel the certificate of candidacy (COC) filed by Marcos for president because he is a convicted tax evader.

The petitioners argued Marcos has been disqualified from holding public office after being convicted of tax evasion in 1995.
