Puro left! Duterte claims human rights defenders ‘are all communists’

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday identified human rights activists as being communist.

During the meeting of the Joint National Task Force–Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-RTF ELCAC) in Oriental Mindoro, Duterte criticized human rights advocates for dismissing the deaths of soldiers, barangay captains, and civilians because of the armed conflict.

“ Iyan ang ayaw ko sa kanila. And yet itong mga human rights, kung magsalita at mag-ano…May namatay sa kanila kagaya ni Oris, eh talagang pinatay sa sundalo ‘yun. Eh may encounter eh. Gusto pa ng mga buang i-autopsy kung saan ang tama,” the Chief Executive said.

“Iyang mga ganoon na kalokohan nila if they are at the losing end. Pero ‘pag sila ang nakaano, iyon. ‘Pag sila ang nakapabor, ang gobyerno is pictured really as something of a killing machine. Iyon ang mag-ano ng human rights. Puro left rin ‘yun talaga sila eh. Walang human rights na democratic. They are all communists kaya nandiyan ‘yan sila,” he added.

Meanwhile, Duterte thanked the NTF-RTF ELCAC for their commitment to end the communist insurgency in the country.

He also urged local chief executives and community leaders to help the national government defeat communist insurgents and fight crimes and illegal drugs,

“Your cooperation will likewise advance the government’s larger goal of securing and safeguarding the nation,” the President concluded.
