Vice President Leni Robredo is taking up the cudgels for the food delivery riders falling prey to fraudulent deliveries.
Robredo has warned against scammers after her office received more than P100,000 worth of goods she never ordered. The veep was busy with meetings when the fraudulent deliveries three merchants arrived at her office in Quezon City.
According to Robredo, food delivery riders as well as shoppers do not deserve to be duped by these scammers.
“When I was told about this, nag alala ako sa delivery riders. Sobrang abala sa kanila,” Robredo wrote on Facebook.
“Bka akala ng scammers yung burden nasa amin. Hindi iniisip na kinakawawa nila yung riders saka yung mga shoppers nila na nabiktima. Umuulan pa naman kahapon and nabasa sila,” she said.
Robredo meantime thanked MetroMart and the merchants for arranging the easy return of the goods. She also hoped that some unscrupulous individuals won’t take advantage of the food deliveries to dupe people.
“Sana lang sa panahon ng matinding kagipitan, huwag ng mag isip ng mga panloloko at yung mga maliliit na naman yung mga nabibiktima,” she said.
A day after the fake food delivery sent to Robredo’s office, Senator Risa Hontiveros also fell victim to the same delivery scam. A lechon delivery worth over P18,000 was falsely ordered using her name and office address.
