BuCor respects ‘persona non grata’ tag on Bantag, open to negotiation with Muntinlupa LGU

By Prince Golez

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Monday said it respects the decision of the Muntinlupa City Council to declare BuCor Director General Gerald Bantag persona non grata in the city.

This, after BuCor built a wall – for security purposes – that blocked an access road being used by residents in the area.

Tumutulong din tayo sa kanila,” spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said during a Laging Handa public briefing.

Chaclag also said they are “open to negotiation” with the local government unit (LGU) to resolve the issue.

“We are communicating with LGU.
