By Prince Golez

The first day of limited face-to-face classes in the National Capital Region (NCR) has been “smooth” so far, Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said Monday.

A total of 28 public schools in Metro Manila started their face-to-face classes today, December 6.

“So far, it has been smooth. We have officials of the Department that are on the ground at both the central office and the regions. Up to this time, I have been monitoring and we have not received any adverse report as of now,” Malaluan said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

According to the DepEd official, no Covid-19 cases have been recorded during the pilot implementation of in-person classes that began on November 15.

“Wala tayong naitatala na actual confirmed positive case of COVID in all of our participating pilot schools at sana ay magpatuloy ‘yan in the coming days,” he added.
