Duterte commends LGUs on performance in nat’l vax drive

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday congratulated local government units (LGUs) who recorded the highest vaccination rates during the first Bayanihan, Bakunahan drive from November 29 to December 1.

LGUs that administered the most number of jabs were the Calabarzon region, the Province of Laguna, Cebu City, the Municipality of Tanza, the Municipality of Rodriguez, and the Municipality of Arayat.

Duterte also commended the Province of Tawi-Tawi and the General Santos City for the highest improvement in their average jab rate between their pre-national days accomplishment to their output during the 3-day national activity.

Meanwhile, the President thanked all private sector partners for helping the government address the country’s Covid-19 crisis.

“Let us also express our gratitude to our private sector partners. Thank you SM Supermalls. Thank you McDonalds. Thank you Jollibee Foods Corp. Thank you to Angkas. Thank you to Grab. Thank you AC Health. Thank you Ayala Malls. Thank you Robinsons. Thank you Megaworld. At maraming salamat din po sa Smart at sa Globe,” he said in a message read by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles in an event held in Mandaluyong.

Duterte expressed hope that the massive Covid-19 vaccination effort will inspire the public to uphold their civic duty in curbing the spread of the disease.
