Guevarra: BuCor to get 30,000 doses of vaccines

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the Bureau of Corrections will be receiving at least 30,000 of vaccines against the COVID-19 for its inmates.

“At least 30,000 vaccine doses have been allocated for PDLs (persons deprived of liberty) under BuCor’s jurisdiction,” he revealed.

“in 2-3 days the National Vaccination Operations Center will deliver the vaccines directly to the various prison facilities of the BuCor across the country,” he added.

Guevarra said this was made possible after he talked to National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 head Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr.

The BuCor currently has a total inmate population of 48.539 percent.

Its records show that 77 percent or 37,513 inmates have been received the vaccines including 9,359 prisoners who are now fully vaccinated.
