President Rodrigo Duterte has “options” on who to endorse as next president, Malacañang said Friday.
Senator Bong Go, Duterte’s choice in the 2022 presidential elections, earlier withdrew his candidacy for the country’s top office, saying that his family was against it.
“Hintayin na lang natin si Pangulo Duterte to make any announcements with regard to that,” acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in a virtual presser.
“Obviously, may mga options siya. It’s up to him to reveal his choices when the time comes,” added Nograles.
Other candidates running for president are Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao, former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and Labor Leader Ka Leody De Guzman.
