Former Vice President Jojo Binay is “black,” proud, and merry.
Binay, a Senate hopeful in the 2022 elections, has embraced his dark complexion and even proclaimed himself as the “Black Santa” in sending early holiday greetings to the public. A throwback Esquire Philippines magazine cover of Binay wearing a Santa hat has been posted on his Facebook page.
“Hohoho! Maagang pagbati sa darating na Kapaskuhan, galing sa inyong Black Santa. 
Kahit pandemya, basta sana masaya ang Kapaskuhan kasama ang ating pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay,” Binay wrote on Facebook.
He thanked anew Esquire for giving him the rare magazine cover gig back in December 2015. He was then serving as the country’s vice president.
Binya is so thrilled with his Black Santa photo that he made it his new profile photo on Facebook.
“Salamat ulit, Esquire Magazine at naging magazine cover model din ako minsan sa aking buhay,” he quipped.
