Partido Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and his running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III are expected to inaugurate the party’s headquarters in Cebu and Dumaguete cities when they visit the Visayas region this weekend for a series of “Online Kumustahan” gatherings and other activities.
The Lacson-Sotto tandem are scheduled to grace the opening of Partido Reporma offices in Cebu City this Friday (December 10), then will cross over to Dumaguete in Negros Oriental to inaugurate the HQ there the next day (Saturday, December 11).
The longtime public servants will complete their Visayas barnstorming with a stop in Northern Samar on Sunday, December 12 as they hold in-person multisectoral meetings with various groups.
The scheduled events will also be streamed live via Zoom and on Lacson’s official social media accounts.
Both veteran senators have enjoyed strong support in the central region, particularly Sotto, whose family hails from Cebu. His grandfather, Vicente Sotto was a congressman for the province before reaching the Senate in the 1950s.
Some of the senatorial candidates under the Lacson-Sotto ticket may also appear during these activities, either physically and/or virtually.
They include former national police chief Guillermo Eleazar, health advocate Dr. Minguita Padilla, former congressman Monsour del Rosario, and guest senatorial bets such as broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, former Cabinet member Manny Pinol, and others.
Only a limited number of guests and supporters will be allowed in all in-person assemblies in deference to strict national and local public health protocols amid the lingering COVID-19 pandemic.
