Not so happy holidays: Pharmally execs Mohit Dargani, Linconn Ong could be in jail ’til June 30, 2022

Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation executives Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong might be detained at the Pasay City Jail until a new president assumes office on June 30, 2022 over their supposed failure to cooperate with senators.

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Richard Gordon warned Dargani and Ong Friday (December 3) that they might not be getting out of jail soon as they remained firm that they are unaware of the location of Pharmally’s financial documents.

The panel ordered their transfer to the Pasay City Jail from the Senate premises last week for their failure to hand over the documents as part of the Senate investigation into the government’s COVID-19 pandemic supply contracts.

“Kung akala nila Dargani sufficient na sila magtago at pinagmamalaki pa nila na hindi na sila sisipot, ‘yung kanilang mga abugado panay ang press release nila, ay talagang aabutin kayo hanggang matapos ang buhay nitong Congress na ito hanggang June 29 or 30 next year and you will not get any more free passes from us at the rate you are going,” Gordon said in his opening statement at the 16th hearing on the issue.

The senator said that while Dargani and Ong’s refusal to hand over Pharmally’s financial documents has made the committee’s job harder, senators can still tap the Bureau of Internal Revenue for help.

Pharmally was found to have bagged some P10 billion in supply contracts in just one year.
