President Rodrigo Duterte heaped praises on the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for its dedication to public service and not giving him any headaches throughout his term.
In a two-minute video shared to Politiko, Duterte thanked the NBI workforce for a job well done.
“To the men and women of the NBI you have done a good job all these years since I became President. I like you to thank you for your support sa akin and being true to your oath of office. I may not be able to shake the hands of every one of you. Maraming, marami salamat po!” the President said.
Duterte made special mention of NBI Director Eric Distor for ably leading the bureau through challenging times.
“Mabuhay ang NBI at yung acting NBI Director Distor for a splendid performance,” he said. “Your dedication –alam ko wala akong problema sa inyo- be it mali, kalokohan – I never encountered those problems during my time.”
Duterte urged NBI employees to let him know what his administration can do for the bureau in the remaining months of his term.
“I’m about to wind up am winding baka di na ako makapag-usap sa inyo. Salamat, maraming salamat. If there are things I can do before I go.” Duterte said.
Among the NBI’s major accomplishments this year include filing cases against the personalities involved in the shootout between local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Quezon City.
