Back in Manila: Bato tests negative for coronavirus

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has returned to Manila after living in quarantine in home city of Davao in recent weeks.

Dela Rosa tested negative in the coronavirus rapid test when he reported for work at the Senate Monday.

The former police chief, clad in a gray suit, was in complete protective gear when he attended the resumption of the Senate session. He was spotted wearing N95 mask and goggles while filling up a travel and health declaration form.

“Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa attended the resumption of Senate Sessions today, May 4, 2020, at the Senate Building in Pasay and got tested for Covid19 via mandatory rapid test together with around 500 Senate personnel,” a post on the senator’s Facebook page read.

“Senator Dela Rosa’s result came out negative for Covid19, while the Senate personnel who tested positive will undergo confirmatory tests,” it added.

Dela Rosa earlier was forced to spend several days in Davao after flights were suspended due to the coronavirus lockdown. Apart from relief operations, he was also busy with cooking meals for the family at home.
