Malling pa more! ECQ may be reimposed if COVID cases spike – Palace

By Prince Golez

Areas will be reverted back to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) should there be a resurgence of cases after the government loosened quarantine restrictions in the country, according to Malacañang.

On Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said ECQ will be reinstated in provinces and cities if the doubling time of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in the country hastens.

Hospital beds will run short of critical care beds for Covid-19 patients if people continue to disregard quarantine rules, added Roque.

As of Sunday afternoon, there have been 12,513 confirmed cases in the Philippines. Of these cases, 2,635 people recovered while 824 died.

There is no approved vaccine yet to prevent the spread of the viral disease.
