President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to decide whether or not he will deliver his State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City, according to Malacañang.
Duterte is scheduled to deliver his fifth SONA on July 27.
“Sa mulat-mula naman po talagang ang venue po ay Batasang Pambansa. Ang isyu lang kung dadalo ng personal ang Presidente, ilan ang makaka-attend o kung mag vi-video telecast na lang po ang ating Presidente. So hindi isyu ang venue talaga,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque told reporters Thursday.
Roque made the comment in response to Senate President Vicente Sotto III’s statement that Duterte will deliver his address live at Batasan.
“The venue is confirmed. It is Batasan. Pero ang alam ko po hindi pa po 100 percent sure kung physically mag attend ang President or mag broadcast from Malago to Congress,” he said.
The secretary added: “Wala pang detalye na nabibigay sa akin. May naririnig akong mga figures. Sinasabi daw po na na limitado, parang 25 sa House (of Representatives) at ilang mga senador ang a-attend physically. Hayaan niyo po pag plantsado mag anunsyo tayo diyan.”
