Health Secretary Francisco Duque III can participate virtually in Tuesday’s Senate hearing on corruption at the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Monday.
In a text message to reporters, Lacson said
“Sec Duque can still participate virtually as a resource person. Being possibly exposed to the virus is not an acceptable excuse as far as the Senate is concerned,” he said.
Earlier, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Duque informed him he would attend the Senate hearing virtually.
Duque was quoted in reports as saying he may be at risk because he had exposure to Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano, who said he tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
