30K daily COVID tests ‘no longer enough’? Roque: Nothing will ever be enough for Leni

By Prince Golez

Malacañang is brushing aside the statement of Vice President Leni Robredo that the government should be testing more people to sustain the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview on Quarantined with Howie Severino yesterday, Robredo said the government’s daily coronavirus testing capacity of 30,000 “may no longer be enough if our goal is to have less than 5 percent positivity rate.”

Nothing the Duterte administration did was ever good enough for Robredo, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an interview with state-run PTV4 Wednesday.

“Of course, nothing will ever be enough for someone na hindi nakikita ng kahit anong mabuti sa pamahalaan,” according to the Palace official.

Meanwhile, Roque said the government intends to build more quarantine facilities and boost its contact tracing efforts to stop further spread of the virus.
