Palace on new SWS poll: Worst of COVID crisis is over

By Prince Golez

MalacaƱang understands the pessimism of the majority of Filipinos who believe the worst-case scenario of the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is yet to come.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the statement after the result of the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations showed that 57 percent of Filipinos said the country has yet to see the worst of Covid-19.

“Naintindihan po natin yung pessimism ng ating kababayan dahil napakahirap talaga nitong pandemiya na dinulot nito,” Roque said in an interview with PTV-4 Wednesday.

“Pero ang masasabi ko lang po the worst is over. Kaya lang naman po we hit rock bottom dahil sinira natin ang ekonomiya,” he also said.

Despite the ongoing difficulties posed by the pandemic, the Palace official stressed the need to live with Covid-19 until there’s a vaccine for the virus.
