Motorists and commuters can look forward to faster trip between Makati City and Quezon City.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar has announced that the highly anticipated Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project will be completed by December.
The 18.8-kilometer elevated highway is expected to reduce the travel time between Makati City and Quezon City from two hours to just 20 to 30 minutes. The highway, which spans from Buendia, Makati City to the North Luzon Expressway in Balintawak, Quezon City, aims to decongest traffic in Metro Manila.
“Halos malapit na matapos ‘yung project. Bahagi po ito ng EDSA decongestion program ng ating Pangulo at target po namin ay December. By Christmas, tapos na po itong Skyway,” Villar said in a Facebook video posted on September 17.
“Napakalaking bagay from Makati to Quezon City kung dati puwede umabat ng isang oras kalahati to two hours, 20 minutes na lang pag natapos ang Skyway kaya abangan ninyo po ang Skyway extension,” he said.
The latest post from Villar includes a dash cam video of a drive through of the Skyway road project.
