The proposed P165-billion Bayanihan 2 bill may be signed this week or next week, Malacañang said Monday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, in his televised briefing, said President Rodrigo Duterte will sign the proposed Bayanihan to Recover As One Act or Bayanihan 2 within the first couple weeks of September.
“Kaya lang natatagalan ng kaunti at hindi pa naman mahabang panahon ang nakalipas, kinikonsulta lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno na merong stake dito sa Bayanihan 2 bill. So yun lang po ang ordinaryong proseso,” according to Roque.
“Pero I can assure you kapag natapos ang consultation na ito eh pipirmahan naman po yan ng President dahil hiningi naman po yan ng Presidente sa Kongreso rin,” he said.
Asked about the timeline for Duterte to sign the measure, the spokesman said: “As soon as possible. I don’t think the first two weeks of September will pass without the bill being signed. I think they are aiming that the bill should be signed this week, last week the latest.”
