Iwas byahe muna: Tagaytay weather poses high risk for COVID infection, Remulla says

To people planning to visit Tagaytay, here’s a word of caution from a politiko.

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla has warned that the cool weather in Tagaytay, poses a great risk to the coronavirus illness.

“The weather in Tagaytay is HIGH RISK for COVID infection,” he tweeted on September 15 following reports many people were visiting the popular destination in Cavite.

Remulla instead urged the public to avoid leisure travel for the meantime amid the threat posed by the coronavirus. “As we continue to battle this pandemic, it is not suitable to do leisure travel at this point in time,” he said.

Joint Task Force COVID Shield Commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar recently appealed to the public to stay at home if they don’t have any essential activities outside. Non-Cavite residents must also secure a travel pass first before visiting Tagaytay, a popular destination.

The police official made the appeal after many people reportedly flocked to the popular destination despite existing community quarantine classification.
