President Rodrigo Duterte has a message to well-off Filipinos, especially those who continuously defy government guidelines in containing COVID.
Duterte believes they should not act so arrogant because they are more vulnerable to getting the coronavirus.
“Ganun ‘yan matamaan ka, tapos sabihin mo mayaman naman ako, malinis ako, puro alcohol. Ah ganun? Mas lalo ka. Kung ‘yan ang rason mo sa hindi ka tatamaan kasi mayabang ka, eh bahala ka sa buhay mo,” said Duterte in a briefing.
“Pero ‘yung mga alam mo na ‘yung mga — ‘yung kinakausap ko lang ‘yung ka-level ko, ‘yung nakakaintindi ng rason and who would listen to us and do the things that we want them to do, ‘yan ang medyo malibre,” he added..
Duterte previously declared that squatters or urban poor Filipinos were immune to coronavirus having been exposed to poor sanitation standards that built up their immune systems by exposing them to bacteria or other bugs.
“Hinigop nilang lahat ng ano kagaw kaya nagkaroon na sila ng panglaban. Maliit pa, ‘pag lumusot kasi ‘yan sila noong maliit pa nagkasakit five, six, seven, eight, ‘pag lumusot ‘yan ‘pag malaki na‘yan, matatag ‘yan. Hindi na tinatablan,” said Duterte.
