President Rodrigo Duterte is not keen on running for vice president, his spokesman said Monday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement after Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo floated the idea of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio running for president with her father President Duterte as running mate in the 2022 polls.
Panelo’s proposed Duterte-Duterte tandem is just his “personal opinion,” Roque said in a televised briefing.
“Ang pagkakaalam ko atat na atat na si Presidente na matapos ang kanyang termino at gusto niya nang umuwi dito sa Davao,” he added.
“Yung Duterte-Duterte tandem na sinasabi ni Secretary Panelo ay personal niyang opinion.”
