Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has also joined in the search for missing Department of Tourism (DOT) lawyer Ryan Oliva.
“The NBI MIMAROPA (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon) field office is already involved in the search for Atty. Oliva,” said Guevarra.
“I have directed the OIC (officer-in-charge) chief to intensify the NBI’s coordination with the local police of Looc, Mindoro occidental and the Philippine Coast Guard in the joint search,” he added.
Oliva, DOT Legislative Liaison Unit head and a professor of the University of the Philippines (UP), has been reported by his family as missing and was last seen alive in a resort in Nasugbu, Batangas last Nov. 22.
His bag containing his personal belongings was also found lying along the seashore of Occidental Mindoro.
