Palace lauds authorities for low ‘Ulysses’ death toll, bayanihan spirit

By Prince Golez

Malacañang attributed the low casualty numbers from typhoon “Ulysses” to Filipino bayanihan spirit.

In a press briefing by government agencies at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) headquarters Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said at least 12 people were killed due to heavy rains and destruction brought by the typhoon.

Based on an initial report from the NDRRMC, Roque said eight individuals were hurt and 14 are missing at the height of Ulysses.
