Peksman? Palace vows to pay gov’t debt to PH Red Cross

By Prince Golez

Malacañang assured that the government will settle its remaining debt to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement after PRC chairman Senator Richard Gordon said that state-run Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) owes the PRC P623.32 million for its coronavirus (Covid-19) testing operations.

Last October, PRC temporarily stopped conducting Covid-19 tests for the government after PhilHealth failed to pay its P1.1 billion debt.

The organization resumed operations after the state insurer made a partial payment.
