President Rodrigo Duterte asked government workers to ensure the smooth deployment of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines when they arrive in the country.
Duterte told customs personnel not to “delay, hinder or obstruct” the movement of the vaccines from the time of arrival to the time of clearance.
“Ang trabaho lang ninyo Customs is magtingin. You have no business na buksan-buksan ‘yan diyan. You are not allowed to do that. I am not allowing you anybody there sa airport na magbukas-bukas,” the Chief Executive said during his televised talk to the people late Monday night.
He also said that the Philippine National Police (PNP) could provide escorts to ensure the swift and safe transport of the vaccine supply to storage facilities.
“The PNP should provide escorts that would ensure the fastest way for the vaccines to arrive in their storage,” said Duterte.
“Even in the matter of transporting it from one facility to the other, ihatid doon sa mga local governments, the police should provide that kind of mobility. ‘Yung mga tawag nilang “hagad” will provide the fastest way of doing it,” according to him.
